IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has broadened its footprint in Poland by signing a Crowne Plaza hotel in Katowice, which is expected to open its doors in 2026.

This addition will mark the second Crowne Plaza property in the country, expanding the brand’s European presence to 90 hotels, including those under development.

The upcoming 178-room hotel, a collaboration between IHG, DL Invest, and Hotel & More, will join Crowne Plaza Warsaw – The HUB, enhancing the brand’s commitment to offering integrated spaces for work and leisure.

DL Invest CEO Dominik Leszczyński said: “IHG’s industry-leading enterprise, combined with Hotel & More’s in-depth market expertise and extensive experience as hotel operators in Hungary and across Europe, gives us full confidence in Crowne Plaza Katowice’s performance.

“With their collective deep understanding of the local market and proven track record of catering to blended travel needs, we are certain that the hotel will become the preferred choice for business travellers visiting the city.”

Crowne Plaza’s recent evolution, featuring a refreshed look and guest-focused programmes, aims to cater to business travellers seeking a blend of professional and personal experiences.

Situated on Katowice Central Highway, the hotel will serve as a hub for travellers, given its proximity to transport links, shopping facilities at Silesia City, and the Katowice International Congress Centre.

The property is designed to appeal to both international and domestic guests.

The hotel’s facilities will span six floors, including a restaurant, lobby café, and meeting and event spaces.

These amenities are expected to accommodate a range of functions, from large business conferences to small social gatherings.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe Development vice president Willemijn Geels said: “We are delighted to be strengthening our presence in Poland, by developing a strong premium segment pipeline alongside DL Invest and Hotel & More.

“Our purpose-driven design approach, amenities and connections-focused service, combined with our partner’s local knowledge and expertise, will deliver an elevated experience for when the Crowne Plaza Katowice open in 2026.”

The Katowice property will become part of IHG’s growing portfolio in Poland, which currently comprises 14 operating hotels and 17 in the pipeline, spread across five brands: Hotel Indigo, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, and Holiday Inn Express.

This expansion underscores IHG’s ongoing investment in the Polish hospitality market, evidenced by the opening of two Warsaw properties in December 2020.
