Scheduled to open in 2029, the hotel will represent IHG’s third property in the city’s Via Veneto district.
The new site will feature 114 guest rooms alongside an interior courtyard, a restaurant, a rooftop bar and wellness amenities, as well as dedicated areas for corporate meetings and events.
The project involves converting an existing structure situated in central Rome.
As part of the redevelopment, an on-site theatre will be restored and converted into a multipurpose venue designed for cultural arts and events.
The site will become the second Kimpton location in Italy, alongside Kimpton Villa Miramare Taormina.
Across Europe, the brand currently has 14 operational hotels and a further six in development.
IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe development vice-president Willemijn Geels said: “Rome remains one of Europe’s most attractive luxury travel destinations, combining global appeal, rich cultural heritage and a thriving hospitality market.
“Italy is a priority market for IHG and one that has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, making Rome the ideal location to introduce Kimpton with this exceptional project.
“With its prime location, distinctive design vision and unique theatre concept, the property will bring a new Luxury and Lifestyle offering to Rome while reflecting the individuality and local character that the brand is known for around the world.”
