IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed agreement with capital investment company BDPST Group to debut its Vignette Collection and voco brands in Hungary next year.

The two hotels are Verno House Budapest, Vignette Collection and voco Budapest.

The Verno House Budapest, which opened recently under BDPST’s umbrella brand Botaniq collection, will be franchised by IHG and rebranded under Vignette Collection.

The rebranded property will feature 50 rooms, a restaurant with bar, a library room which can be repurposed as a flexible meeting space, and a wellness area and gym.

Slated to open in summer 2023, Verno House Budapest, Vignette Collection is close to major attractions such as St Stephen Basilica, Danube Promenade and Andrassy Avenue.

The voco Budapest will also be a rebrand of an already operating D8 hotel, which is managed by BDPST Group.

Set to open in December 2023, the hotel will feature 137 rooms and onsite restaurant.

The property will be closed to tourist destinations including Vorosmarty Square.

IHG Hotels & Resorts Europe SVP, MD Karin Sheppard said: “We are delighted to announce two new signings in the elegant city of Budapest.

“Hungary is one of several growth areas across Europe for IHG and we are looking forward to working closely with BDPST Group to bring both brands to the forefront of Budapest’s flourishing hotel scene, and welcome guests visiting for leisure, business or indeed both.”

Currently, IHG operates three properties in Budapest including InterContinental Budapest, Crowne Plaza Budapest and Holiday Inn – Budapest Budaörs. It will open Kimpton Budapest in 2025.

Recently, IHG expanded presence in Portugal with the signing of Convent Square Hotel Lisbon – Vignette Collection, and Crowne Plaza Caparica Lisbon.
