The project will be Innisfree’s sixth hotel on Pensacola Beach and its seventh in Escambia County.
Once open, the company’s Pensacola Beach portfolio will increase to 1,194 guest rooms and suites.
The beachfront hotel is set to introduce Pensacola Beach’s first hotel waterslides.
Planned facilities also include a zero-entry lazy river with a shallow sun shelf, as well as a two-level poolside bar and restaurant.
The hotel will also have more than 4,000ft² of indoor and outdoor meeting space.
Other features include an expanded Hampton breakfast dining and buffet area, a private event patio overlooking the Gulf and pool complex, and direct beach access.
The hotel is expected to create around 150 jobs.
According to Innisfree, that would increase its local workforce to more than 825 employees while its Pensacola-area portfolio is projected to generate over $16.6m in annual tax revenues.
Separately, Innisfree has also broken ground on the new home of the Hive Arts Academy in Pensacola.
The academy will provide a permanent base for the Foundation’s youth arts programming and is designed for students in grades 8 through 12.
Its campus will include more than 6,000ft² of covered space.
The Hive Arts Academy is scheduled to open next summer and is also expected to support further investment in Pensacola’s Eastside Urban Infill and Redevelopment Area.
Innisfree Hotels president and CEO Ted Ent said: “Every guest who chooses Pensacola Beach helps strengthen our local economy, and that success allows us to invest back into the community in meaningful ways.
“The new Hampton Inn will generate lasting economic benefits while the Hive Arts Academy will help young people discover their talents and prepare for bright futures.”
