The Luxury Collection, which is part of Marriott International, has announced the launch of Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa in Abu Dhabi.

The new property marks the debut of the portfolio in the UAE capital.

Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa features 103 guest rooms and joins The Luxury Collection brand’s portfolio in the UAE.

The portfolio includes hotels such as Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, Dubai, Grosvenor House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Dubai and Ajman Saray, a Luxury Collection Resort, Ajman.

Villas of the new property feature traditional Arabesque flourishes, mashrabiya detailing, and Bedouin accessories.

Marriott International Middle East chief operating officer Guido De Wilde said: “We are delighted to welcome Al Wathba, Desert Resort & Spa to our ensemble of hotels that define the destination and offer our global explorers an authentic desert experience alongside warm Arabian hospitality.

Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa provides six dining venues and bars: Bait Al Hanine, Al Mabeet, Hayaakom, Terra Secca, Al Mesayan, and Panache.

The hotel’s spa is located within a picturesque garden and provides 11 treatment rooms. It also has relaxation areas including a healing crystal salt sauna, traditional Turkish hammam, cryo experience, an open-air yoga pavilion, ice shower.

Additionally, the spa has steam rooms, plunge pools, and snow caves.

Al Wathba is also home to diverse flora and fauna, including 4,000 flamingos.
