Marriott International has partnered with resorts owner and operator Playa Hotels & Resorts to open The Luxury Collection branded resort in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic.

The new Sanctuary Cap Cana, a Luxury Collection Adult All-Inclusive resort is slated to open in summer 2022.

The adults-only resort, which underwent a renovation in 2019, boasts 325 rooms and five a la carte restaurants, six bars and five pools.

It will also feature its own nightlife destination, Sanctuary Town.

Marriott International Caribbean and Latin America chief development officer Laurent de Kousemaeker said: “We are thrilled to bring our first The Luxury Collection all-inclusive brand extension to the Dominican Republic and we are grateful to the Martínez family for developing such a unique resort.

“We are also excited for the opportunity to work with Playa Hotels & Resorts, a very reputable all-inclusive operator.”

In February this year, The Luxury Collection opened The Ocean Club, its first property in the Dominican Republic’s northern coast.
