The Luxury Collection, a part of Marriott International, has opened its first property in the Dominican Republic’s northern coast.
The luxury resort, The Ocean Club, is situated beside a private beach on Costa Norte. It is just a 15-minute drive from Puerto Plata Airport.
The Luxury Collection VP and global brand leader Philipp Weghmann said: “Costa Norte is an ideal fit for our expanding footprint as we continue to offer our global explorers captivating home bases from which to explore all corners of the world.
“The Ocean Club will draw on the area’s natural wonders, and we’re delighted to offer our guests unique design and exceptional service as they discover this magical destination.”
The hotel offers 64 suites, ranging from one to three bedrooms and five multitiered four-bedroom penthouses.
Dining venues at The Ocean Club include the brand’s signature restaurant, Baia, which caters familiar staples and dishes inspired by the region’s produce; and Aguazul serves Asian-Peruvian fusion cuisine.
The property’s casual outdoor restaurant, Rock Bar & Grill, offers Mediterranean meals and signature cocktails, while The Cellar offers vintage spirits collection and limited-edition cigars.
Other guest amenities include three pools, including two adult-only and beachfront whirlpools, Mediterranean art-de-vivre inspired L’OCCITANE Spa with four treatment rooms, complementary 24/7 fitness centre with cardio equipment and free weights.
The Ocean Club also offers dedicated marina and helipad for guests opting to arrive by boat or helicopter.
Marriott’s The Luxury Collection brand has 120 hotels and resorts in more than 35 countries and territories.
In December 2021, the brand debuted in Australia with the opening of The Tasman, A Luxury Collection Hotel Hobart at Parliament Square.
