The hospitality company said the upcoming projects are expected to feature several of its luxury and premium brands, including The Ritz-Carlton Hotels, The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts and Autograph Collection.
The statement added that the properties will be located in “most sought-after” coastal and urban destinations in the country.
Marriott International North Africa development vice-president Shady Hassan said: “Egypt remains a strategic growth market for Marriott underpinned by strong tourism fundamentals, expanding infrastructure and increasing demand for premium hospitality and branded residential experiences.
“This agreement underscores our long-term commitment to the market and our confidence in the country’s continued growth trajectory.”
Among the planned developments is a Ritz-Carlton hotel in The Med Ras El Hekma with 170 guest rooms, alongside a 268-unit Ritz-Carlton Residences.
In Solare Ras El Hekma, an Autograph Collection hotel with 180 rooms is scheduled to be built, together with 250 Autograph Collection branded residences.
At the Hills of One, a mixed-use project in Sphinx City in West Cairo will freature a Luxury Collection hotel with 180 rooms and an equal number of residences.
An Autograph Collection hotel with 80 rooms is proposed, co-located with 172 branded residences, within the Kai Sokhna Red Sea beachfront scheme in Ain Sokhna.
A further Autograph Collection hotel with 100 rooms is planned for Garden 8, a lifestyle destination in East Cairo.
The latest announcement builds on the relationship between Marriott International and Misr Italia Properties, following the 2022 signings of Marriott Executive Apartments and a Westin Residences.
Misr Italia Properties managing director and CEO and People & Places co-founder Mohamed Khaled El Assal said: “Hospitality is a strategic pillar of our long-term growth vision.
“With investments exceeding E£56.7bn ($1.1bn), Misr Italia Properties and People & Places ambitious hospitality expansion plans are expected to create around 6,000 direct and indirect job opportunities while aiming to welcome approximately 373,000 tourists annually.”
Misr Italia Properties and People & Places are also working toward assembling a portfolio of around 50 hospitality assets by 2037.
