Marriott International’s St. Regis Hotels & Resorts has opened its new 39-storey hotel in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.

Designed by architect Michael Graves, St. Regis Cairo is situated in the north of Corniche.

The hotel features 286 rooms and suites and 80 apartments, as well as three spacious ‘Royal Suites’ with a private fitness room, sauna and floor-to-ceiling windows.

All guestrooms are provided the brand’s signature ‘St. Regis Butler service’.

Marriott International Middle East and Africa president for Europe Satya Anand noted that Egypt has historically been one of the brand’s key markets.

He said: “Cairo is a storied destination that has long mesmerised the global traveller with its incredible energy offering a vibrant mix of history, culture, tradition and glamour.”

St. Regis Cairo is also home to several restaurants, bars and lounges including La Zisa, Tianma, J&G Steakhouse, and poolside restaurant and bar Sirocco, as well as ten meeting venues.

The hotel’s Astor Ballroom is designed with curved staircases for weddings and celebrations. The vaulted three-story high ceiling Grand Ballroom can accommodate up to 1,000 guests.

It also boasts of a 1,000m2 Iridium Spa which features sauna, steam, ice room, shock shower, adventure shower and a vitality pool.

Additionally, The St. Regis Cairo has Athletic Club and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

In last November, Marriott International announced the plans to debut St. Regis Hotels & Resorts in the US city of Chicago.
