The Moran CityCentre joins MetroNational’s existing holdings that include Hotel ZaZa.

MetroNational also entered a joint venture with Rockbridge, following the latter’s recent acquisition of the Hotel ZaZa properties and brand in Dallas, Houston, and Austin.

In addition to the hotel, the acquisition covers the real estate occupied by two CityCentre restaurants, Daily Gather and Yard House.

JLL Capital Markets brokered the sale, with senior managing directors Colby Mueck and Ryan West, managing director John Nugent, and directors Greyson Fewin and Robby Westerfield overseeing the transaction.

The Moran CityCentre offers immediate access for guests to retail, dining, and entertainment options within CityCentre.

The hotel was named in memory of Midway Development Group founder Jim Moran.

MetroNational president Scooter Hicks said: “West Houston has emerged as one of the region’s most compelling hospitality markets. For years, our hospitality strategy has been concentrated around Memorial with Hotel ZaZa and The Westin.

“The Moran further strengthens our portfolio and strategy in one of Houston’s most dynamic areas. We look forward to building on its strong foundation while continuing to enhance the overall guest experience.”

Rockbridge managing director Matt Welch said: “We are excited to partner with MetroNational on this next chapter for The Moran. Our shared focus on thoughtful design, elevated service and authentic experiences creates a strong foundation to continue positioning the hotel as a leading lifestyle destination in Houston.”

In August 2024, Rockbridge acquired Hyatt House Chicago West Loop / Fulton Market, a 200-room hotel near downtown Chicago’s West Loop and Fulton Market in the US.
