Minor Hotels has expanded its preferred distribution partnership with independent B2B travel technology marketplace HBX Group to include hotels in Asia, Australasia, Africa, and the Middle East.

This development was unveiled at MarketHub Asia 2025 in Macau, China, and marked a step in the companies’ joint efforts to streamline distribution and operational costs.

According to the deal, Minor Hotels will add 181 properties from the aforementioned regions to its distribution partnership.

HBX Group chief commercial officer Carlos Muñoz said: “This global partnership represents a significant milestone in our collaboration with Minor Hotels. By consolidating distribution efforts and reducing operational complexity, we are enabling Minor to streamline its strategy and focus on reaching high-value markets where we can add real value.

“HBX Group becomes an extension of Minor’s commercial arm, bringing their brands to markets and customers that would otherwise be out of reach.”

The partnership, which builds on the success of the existing collaboration in Europe and the Americas, positions HBX Group as a preferred B2B distribution partner for Minor Hotels and will enable improved control over rates and inventory.

Minor Hotels chief commercial officer Ian Di Tullio said: “Our partnership with HBX Group has been instrumental in maintaining our agility and efficiency, allowing us to leverage best practices and insights from their network.

“This collaboration in Europe and the Americas has been invaluable in accelerating our growth and expanding our distribution.”

With this expansion, HBX’s global network, which connects 60,000 travel distributors across more than 190 source markets, will now offer access to over 560 Minor Hotels properties in 58 countries.

Included in the partnership are several of Minor Hotels’ brands, including Anantara, Avani, Elewana Collection, nhow, and Tivoli.

Looking forward, Minor Hotels plans to add nearly 300 properties to its portfolio over the next three years, all of which will join the preferred distribution partnership.

Minor Hotels Europe and Americas chief commercial officer Fernando Vives said: “Our collaboration with HBX Group has accelerated our growth in Europe and the Americas and provided us with the insights to refine our approach in the markets.

“As we expand our partnership globally, we are excited to build on this momentum and deliver greater value to our guests.”

In related news, Minor Hotels announced a partnership with Fliggy’s new booking platform, Global Discovery, last month.

This collaboration aims to enhance Minor Hotels’ digital presence in China by featuring more than 80,000 rooms from its diverse portfolio, encompassing Anantara, Avani, and Oaks, at the same rates as on Minor’s websites.
