Mövenpick Hotel Amman in Jordan has earned its first Green Globe certification, recognising its commitment to sustainability.

The luxury 14-floor hotel has implemented initiatives to decrease energy consumption such as upgrading to LED lighting and installing motion sensors throughout the property.
Smart thermostats are used to maintain comfortable temperatures and outdoor lighting is controlled by photocells to further conserve energy.
Water conservation has also been a key focus for Mövenpick Hotel Amman. The hotel has adopted rainwater harvesting and installed water-saving fixtures to significantly reduce water usage.
Additionally, an on-site organic garden supplies fresh produce to the hotel’s kitchens while a drip irrigation system utilises harvested rainwater for the garden.
The hotel’s waste management plan includes replacing single-use items with sustainable alternatives and implementing recycling and composting programmes. Partnerships with local organisations have been formed for waste repurposing, such as delivering organic waste to a supplier for animal feed.
Mövenpick Hotel Amman supports environmental protection and sustainable development through community initiatives, including tree planting and reforestation partnerships to combat deforestation and enhance air quality.
The hotel also undertakes social responsibility by organising clothing donation drives and food donations, in collaboration with the Jordan Clothing Bank and the Jordan Food Bank.
It also participates in community clean-up events to contribute to a pristine environment.
Green Globe recognises global travel and tourism entities for sustainable practices by awarding certifications to hotels, resorts, conference centres, and attractions, among various sectors.
