
The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is expanding its presence in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, with the launch of Naukuchia House – IHCL SeleQtions resort.
This new property is perched more than 4,000ft in the Kumaon foothills of the Himalayas.
Often called the ‘lake of nine corners’, Naukuchiatal is an eco-friendly destination in Uttarakhand known for its biodiversity.
IHCL CEO and managing director Puneet Chhatwal said: “The opening of Naukuchia House – IHCL SeleQtions is a testament to IHCL’s dedication to curating regional-centric experiences in emerging tourist destinations.
“This will be our fifth hotel in partnership with Leisure Hotels Group since 2013 reflecting a shared vision to establish and showcase unique and off-beat leisure locations of India.”
The 42-key Naukuchia House – IHCL SeleQtions resort offers a range of culinary experiences and leisure activities such as forest bathing, stargazing, and nature trails.
Guests have exclusive access to the Naukuchiatal Lake and can unwind at the resort’s temperature-controlled outdoor swimming pool or indulge in spa treatments.

Leisure Hotels Group, an experiential resort chain in North India, has been serving travellers in Uttarakhand since 1989.
With a diverse portfolio that includes business hotels, boutique resorts, bespoke villas, and luxury camps, the group is committed to providing traditional-style services.
With the addition of Naukuchia House, IHCL now operates 17 hotels in the region, including seven that are under development.
The company has a global portfolio of 362 hotels, including 125 under development, spanning four continents, 13 countries, and more than 150 locations.
Last month, IHCL announced the signing of a new hotel under the Gateway brand in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
This project, a conversion initiative, aims to tap into the region’s burgeoning tourism market.
