Grace Hotels is planning to build a new hotel near Kalamata city, in the south-western part of the Peloponnese in Greece.

Grace Kalamata will be located on the sandy Velika beach and will offer views of the Messinian Gulf and Mount Taygetos.

Numerous beaches line the coast, all of which are within easy reach of the new hotel.

The new hotel will have 125 rooms and suites, and approximately 40 luxury residential villas, each with three, four or five bedrooms.

It will have multiple restaurants, two bars, a spa and wellness centre, conference facilities, water sports and children’s facilities.

The new hotel will be conveniently located for access by road (approximately 2½ hours’ drive from Athens) and air (13km from Kalamata International Airport).

Grace Kalamata is expected to be opened in 2017.

According to Grace Hotels, the design of the Grace Kalamata will reflect the group’s philosophy of elegance and simplicity, while being sympathetic to the locality.

Grace Hotels Mediterranean and Africa head Lena Livanidou described the resort as a perfect destination for a Grace hotel.

"It is in an authentic and charming town and has a beautiful beach frontage, yet it is within easy reach of Athens. Lovers of Greece and Greek history will relish the variety of cultural and leisure experiences that a mainland destination like Kalamata can offer," Livanidou added.

Grace Kalamata will be the fourth development for the Grace Hotels group in Greece. Grace Hotels operates Grace Mykonos and Grace Santorini, while Grace Kea is currently under development.
