Chicago-based hospitality group Hyatt Hotels has announced that a Hyatt affiliate has signed a management agreement with PT Eka Ilalang Suryadinamika to establish a new Hyatt Regency hotel in Sentul City, Indonesia.
The new Hyatt Regency Sentul City, which will be located on the outskirts of the satellite city of Bogor, will be the sixth Hyatt-branded hotel in Indonesia.
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Asia Pacific real estate and development senior vice president Ratnesh Verma said the company is delighted to enhance its brand presence in Indonesia.
"The first Hyatt hotel opened in the Indonesian market more than 30 years ago, and we are very excited to further build on Hyatt’s strong brand equity and excellent portfolio of hotels in the country," Verma added.
Expected to open in 2017, the new property will be part of a mixed-use complex and have 225 rooms, an outdoor pool, a spa and meeting space.
The complex that will house the new Hyatt Regency Sentul City will comprise a 240,000ft² retail mall and 212,000ft² of office space.
PT Eka Ilalang Suryadinamika president director Reina Kumala Kwee said that the company believes the new Hyatt Regency Sentul City will attract business and leisure travellers from across the region.
"We are thrilled to broaden our relationship with Hyatt, and feel confident that the new project will create mutually beneficial results," Kumala Kwee added.
Other Hyatt-branded hotels in Indonesia include Grand Hyatt Bali, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, Hyatt Regency Bandung, Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta, and Hyatt Regency Bali, which is currently under renovation and will be rebranded from Bali Hyatt.
Currently, the Chicago-based hospitality group’s portfolio comprises 535 properties across 47 countries.
