InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the new Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Downtown in Georgia, US.
The 11-storey, 130-room hotel, formerly known as the Centennial Inn Atlanta Hotel, underwent a $7m conversion that included enhancements throughout.
The hotel will offer a complimentary Express Start breakfast bar, SimplySmart shower, a lobby, a 24-hour business centre, a fitness centre and flexible meeting space which can accommodate meetings of up to 200 people.
The Holiday Inn Express Atlanta Downtown is managed by Luckie J. Management under a licence agreement with a company in IHG.
IHG said the hotel includes features in keeping with the $1bn Holiday Inn relaunch.
The relaunch programme was first announced in 2007 and creates a brand image as part of a drive to increase quality and consistency across the global portfolio.
It focuses on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort, and a redesigned logo and signage.
"Holiday Inn Express hotels are designed to be the smart choice for value-conscious business and leisure travellers," said Gina LaBarre, vice president, brand management, the Americas, IHG.
There are more than 2,000 Holiday Inn Express hotel locations around the globe and hundreds more in development, said LaBarre.
IHG, which has more than 1,100 hotels in its development pipeline, franchises, leases, manages or owns over 4,500 hotels and more than 666,000 guest rooms in 100 countries and territories.
It operates seven hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, and Staybridge Suites and Candlewood Suites.
