Marriott International has signed a letter of intent with a joint venture between The Bernstein Companies and Boston Properties to build its new corporate headquarters and hotel project in downtown Bethesda, US.
The site is located at 7750 Wisconsin Avenue, at the corner of Wisconsin and Norfolk Avenues, situated near the Bethesda Metro station.
The campus, valued at $600m, will feature a 22 storied build-to-suit office building and a Marriott hotel with more than 230 rooms.
The new flagship hotel will have flexible meeting and ballroom space for meetings, banquets and conferences accommodate on an area measuring 8,000ft2 and will offer range of dining and social amenities, with a ground-floor restaurant with outdoor dining, a specialty coffee shop and a seasonal rooftop dining terrace.
The new development will be used as the hotel group’s headquarter housing Marriott’s associates and will be equipped with modern technologies, amenities while providing access to transportation options. Childcare centre, a fitness centre and a cafeteria are the other amenities offered by the campus.
The campus will be aligned to green building standards, allowing in natural light and spacious areas for the associates. A landscaped public plaza will be laid for the pedestrians.

Marriott has entered into an agreement with Montgomery County to lease the Woodmont Corner Garage to be exclusively used by Marriott associates and visitors during normal business hours. The garage would remain open for public use on evenings, weekends and holidays.
The campus is expected to open in 2022.
