InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening in the US of the $52m Holiday Inn New York City Midtown-31st St.
IHG said the 20-storey property – located at 30 West 31st Street, New York City – offers 120 guest rooms and a rooftop lounge.
The new hotel includes features in keeping with the $1bn Holiday Inn re-launch, which was announced in 2007 and claimed to be the largest project of its kind in the history of the hospitality industry.
Gina LaBarre, vice president, brand delivery, the Americas, IHG, said: "Holiday Inn hotels and suites are specifically designed for business and family oriented leisure travellers in need of a full-service lodging experience, and this hotel in the heart of Manhattan – built in keeping with our brand relaunch – fits well within that offering."
The relaunch programme focuses on contemporary brand image, redesigned logo and signage, increasing quality and consistency across the global portfolio.
The hotel houses Contorno’s, a boutique Italian restaurant that offers the Holiday Inn Best-4-Breakfast menu.
