Wyndham Hotel Group has announced a $160m hotel project in Nevis, an island in the Caribbean region.
The project will see construction of the Wyndham Grand Nevis resort facing the beach, positioned within Northern Pointe Resort.
Construction of the first phase of the project is slated to start in the middle of this year and is expected to be completed in 2019.
Upon completion, the resort will have 170 suites, condominiums and villas ranging from 900 to 5,100ft2.
The resort will also feature a private beach club, five dining areas, infinity pools, spa and a meeting space spread over an area of more than 10,000ft2.
Nevis tourism minister Mark Brantley said: "The Nevis Island Government is delighted with the announcement from Wyndham Hotels of its expansion into Nevis.
"This is fantastic news for tourism on the island that we can attract another international brand to complement our bespoke Plantation Inns and the grand dame of Caribbean luxury Resorts, the Four Seasons Nevis.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with the developers to bring this much anticipated development to successful completion and welcome Wyndham to our shores."
The announcement of the hotel project will add to the portfolio of 13 hotels currently operated by the Wyndham Hotel Group in the Caribbean.
The company has also recently opened 23 hotels which are now operational.
