Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel in Vienna, Austria, has opened its doors after undergoing an extensive renovation programme.

Once a pivotal post station along the route from Vienna to Trieste during the Austrian Empire, the hotel has been transformed to merge its heritage with contemporary amenities.

Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel, Vienna general manager Elisabeth Boyer said: “We are thrilled to welcome guests to the Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel, Vienna.

“Our renovation has been a labour of love, aiming to preserve the hotel’s historic charm while introducing modern comforts. We look forward to providing our guests with an exceptional experience that reflects the rich cultural tapestry of Vienna.”

The Radisson Blu Das Triest Hotel provides easy access to Vienna’s landmarks such as the Castle Belvedere, the Vienna State Opera, Hofburg, and St Stephen’s Cathedral.

Many of the hotel’s 120 rooms and suites have been redesigned while some retain the “original clean, minimalist design”.

Initially opened in 1995 as the city’s first design hotel, the property features rooms that vary in layout and scale. These range from compact spaces to extensive suites, which encompass lounge areas and private terraces in selected suites.

One of the highlights of the hotel’s reopening is the Bistrot Bertarelli 1894, a restaurant that celebrates Italian travel pioneer Luigi Vittorio Bertarelli.

The property offers several food and beverage options, wellness amenities and five fully equipped conference rooms.

This opening is part of Radisson Hotel Group’s expansion strategy, which includes a new Radisson Blu hotel in Barcelona, Spain, in February 2022.
