Radisson Hotel Group has unveiled a partnership with Manchester City for The Medlock, a 401-room four-star hotel at the club’s Entertainment Destination.
The new hotel is set to become a part of the Radisson Blu portfolio and is positioned for the high-end market.
This establishment will be integrated into the club’s £300m expansion project at the Etihad Campus. The hotel’s strategic location will connect it directly to the Etihad Stadium.
Hotel management company Valor Hospitality will oversee the hotel operations.
The collaboration between Radisson and Manchester City aims to provide accommodation for event attendees at the Etihad Stadium and the UK’s largest indoor arena, Co-op Live, as well as visitors to Manchester.
City Football Group chief operating officer Roel de Vries said: “Today’s announcement is an exciting moment as we reveal the name of our hotel as ‘The Medlock’ and welcome globally renowned hotelier, Radisson Hotel Group to the Etihad Campus.
“We look forward to working with Radisson as we move towards the opening of the hotel and a year-round sports and entertainment destination that our fans and visitors from both the UK and around the world can enjoy.”
The Medlock will open its doors in late 2026 and operate all-year-round. It is set to offer a range of accommodation options, including suites, standard, and rooms, along with a penthouse suite for luxury accommodation.
Once completed, the hotel will feature a roof walk, food and drink outlets, a museum experience, and commercial office space within the expanded stadium vicinity.
The Medlock will also provide access to the meeting and events space at the Etihad Stadium, with access from the city centre.
Radisson Hotel Group executive vice-president and global chief development officer Elie Younes said: “Our brands are always relevant to both our owners and our guests. We are thrilled to collaborate with Manchester City Football Club and create a global flagship hotel within the world-class Etihad Campus in Manchester.
“This hotel is a fantastic addition to a growing portfolio of several stadium-based properties in the UK.”
Radisson Hotel Group’s extensive portfolio includes 1,520 hotels currently in operation or under development worldwide.
In April 2023, Radisson Hotel Group expanded its UK presence with the launch of Radisson Hotel York.
