India-based Royal Orchid Hotels is set to expand its portfolio by opening 30-35 new properties across the country in the fiscal year 2024-2025, reported PTI via The Economic Times (ET).

This will see the addition of around 2,000 rooms with the launch of properties across various segments, under a management contract.

Royal Orchid Hotels chairman and managing director Chander K Baljee outlined the company’s growth strategy, which focuses on entering new Indian markets.

Baljee was quoted by PTI as saying: “We are expanding very fast. We have already crossed 100 hotels, and I think this coming year (2024-2025), have already signed up for another 30-35 (hotels to be added).”

He added that some of the new properties would operate on a flexible lease revenue-sharing model, though there would be no company-owned properties.

Royal Orchid Hotels also looks to expand its wedding destination portfolio with the addition of four to five locations a year.

These destinations could range from wildlife resorts to heritage resorts, hillside or beachside.

Baljee commented: “We have 20 wedding destinations across the country…we are planning to add some more wedding destinations. Maybe every year, we’ll add about four or five wedding destinations.”

Currently, Royal Orchid Hotels has a presence in more than 65 sites in India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.
