Safir Hotels & Resorts has signed an exclusive memorandum of understanding (MOU) with The Syrian Arab Company for Tourism & Hospitality to boost growth in the Syrian market.
The agreement will see Safir operate and manage Safir Homs hotels and develop three new properties in Damascus, Bloudan, and Deir Azzour.
With economic activity in the Syrian Arab Republic on the rise, Safir is capitalising on the opportunity to invest in the local hospitality sector.
Safir Hotels & Resorts CEO Abdulaziz Al Failakawi said: “This agreement is a testament to Safir’s commitment to growth and our confidence in the Syrian Arab Republic’s bright future.
“We are honoured to be at the forefront of the country’s hospitality renaissance, offering world-class service and elevating the guest experience in these vibrant destinations.”
This strategic move not only strengthens the company’s existing relationship with The Syrian Arab Company for Tourism & Hospitality but also aligns with its vision to extend its services and Arabian hospitality to markets in the Middle East.
The company aims to enhance the tourism and hospitality landscape in Syria by generating employment opportunities, spurring economic growth, and providing quality accommodations and services that embody the essence of Arabian hospitality traditions.
The Syrian Arab Company for Tourism & Hospitality CEO Ajwad Khoweis said: “We are proud of our partnership with Safir Hotels & Resorts in this pivotal expansion.
“The Syrian Arab Republic is entering a new era of opportunity, and we believe this collaboration will enhance the hospitality landscape, create new job opportunities, and contribute positively to the economic development of the country.”
In a parallel expansion effort, Safir signed a management contract in December 2024 with Hariri Building & Contracting Co (HARCO Offshore) for a new five-star hotel in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq.
This venture further demonstrates Safir’s commitment to growing its presence in the Middle East.
