Scandic, a hotel company in the Nordic region, is expanding its presence in Sweden with the addition of a new alpine hotel in Sälen, set to open for the 2027/2028 winter season.
The property, offering 120 rooms and 16 apartments along with conference facilities, will provide guests with ski-in, ski-out access and a wellness area featuring a sauna, gym, and pool.
Scandic Hotels Group president and CEO Jens Mathiesen said: “We’re very happy to be able to welcome guests to our first Scandic hotel in the Swedish mountains. Our growth strategy is clear: we want to strengthen our position in the Nordic countries by expanding in attractive, new locations.
“Sälen is an established and popular destination with great demand from both Swedish, Nordic and international visitors, which we intend to leverage. We look forward to offering our guests an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Swedish mountains.”
The new addition is the result of a long-term lease agreement with Lima Besparingsskog, the owner of the property. The hotel will be situated between Tandådalen and Hundfjället.
This property in Scandinavia’s ski area will ensure access to a range of ski slopes.
