US-based Sonesta International Hotels is expanding its global portfolio with the addition of 88 hotels.

US-based Sonesta International Hotels is expanding its global portfolio with the addition of 88 hotels.

Of the total, 78 hotels were reflagged to Sonesta and the remaining 10 hotels are set for transition to Sonesta before the end of March.

These 88 hotels fall under five of the Sonesta brands – Royal Sonesta, Sonesta ES Suites, Sonesta Simply Suites, Sonesta Hotels & Resorts, and Sonesta Select.

A total of 32 hotels joined the portfolio of Sonesta ES Suites, four as Sonesta Simply Suites, 49 as Sonesta Select, two as Sonesta Hotels & Resorts and one as Royal Sonesta.

Sonesta’s expansion has also introduced its brands to key destinations such as Kauai, Hawaii, with the Royal Sonesta Kaua`i Resort; Charleston, South Carolina, with the Sonesta Select Charleston Airport and Sonesta ES Suites Charleston; and Boca Raton, Florida, with the Sonesta Select Boca Raton.

The addition of new hotels also extends Sonesta’s presence in Atlanta with 13 hotels; Boston with 12 hotels; Chicago with 14 hotels; Dallas-Fort Worth with 12 hotels; Kansas City with three hotels; Nashville with three; Scottsdale with four; San Francisco Bay area with ten hotels.

Sonesta International Hotels president and CEO Carlos Flores said: “Over the last six months, we have nearly quadrupled our presence in North America, added over 200 hotels to our national portfolio, and launched two new hotel brands, Sonesta Simply Suites and Sonesta Select.
