The company has partnered with real estate developer BNW Developments to introduce the greenfield project on Al Marjan Island.

In a landmark collaboration, the prestigious Indian hospitality brand, Taj, has arrived in Ras Al Khaimah, marking its debut and enhancing the emirate’s allure.
“Together, we plan to transform the island’s skyline and set new benchmarks for the future of real estate in the emirate. With more BNW projects launching in Al Marjan Island, we are confident of significant economic expansion.”
Marjan is known for offering development opportunities with full foreign ownership and tax benefits.
BNW Developments co-founder and managing director Vivek Anand Oberoi said: “We are excited to partner with IHCL to bring the iconic Taj brand to Al Marjan Island. With its rich hospitality legacy and commitment to excellence, Taj Wellington Mews will be a landmark property in the region.”
Taj Wellington Mews will offer 336 apartments and a variety of dining options, including an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, and a lounge.
The property will also provide versatile meeting rooms and a board room, in addition to facilities such as a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, and a spa with a range of treatments and therapies.
IHCL CEO and managing director Puneet Chhatwal said: “Ras Al-Khaimah’s unique cultural heritage, natural beauty, and significant infrastructure development make it an increasingly compelling destination for global travellers.
“With its immense potential to redefine the Middle Eastern hospitality landscape, the emirate is equipped to become a leading tourism epicentre. As we expand our global footprint, we are delighted to partner with BNW Developments to introduce our iconic Taj hospitality to this island.”
IHCL’s portfolio is extensive, with 368 hotels globally, encompassing 128 under development. The company’s presence spans four continents, 14 countries, and more than 150 locations.
The announcement follows IHCL’s recent expansion in the Middle East, including the signing of two new Taj Hotels in Bahrain in August 2024 and the opening of a luxury beachfront resort at The Palm in Dubai, UAE, in March 2022.
