Waldorf Astoria, the luxury hotel brand under Hilton, has marked its entrance into the Seychelles, an archipelago in the Indian Ocean, by unveiling the Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island.

With 50 seafront villas, the resort offers an intimate experience with personalised concierge services, blending the Waldorf Astoria’s elegance and luxury with the timeless beauty of Platte Island.

The Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island joins Hilton’s existing portfolio in the Indian Ocean, expanding the brand’s footprint in the region.

Design reflecting Seychellois heritage

The resort’s architecture and interior design capture the essence of the Seychelles and the Waldorf Astoria’s sundial clock is inspired by the Moulin Kopra, an iconic Creole melting pot.

Villas are shaped like hawksbill turtle shells and feature fan-shaped designs, ascending pitched ceilings and large gardens.

Culinary expertise and wellness activities

Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island presents six restaurants and bars, showcasing the brand’s culinary expertise. Executive head chef Jane-Therese Mulry crafts Creole-Latin fusion concepts, offering a diverse culinary journey from tapas to high-end Mediterranean dishes. Unique dining experiences, including mixology classes and private barbecues, add to the resort’s gastronomic allure.

Using sustainable ingredients, the spa provides a range of treatments, yoga and guided meditation, surrounded by the Seychellois landscape. A fitness centre and outdoor activities complement the location’s wellness offerings.

The resort also presents a curated line-up of local experiences, from fly fishing to water sports, allowing guests to explore the island’s diverse ecosystems responsibly.

Preserving nature and supporting local ecosystem

Platte Island is a sanctuary for migratory seabirds and turtles, and the resort places a strong emphasis on eco-conscious initiatives.

With a resident environment manager and marine biologist, partnerships with local non-profits and a 2.5MW solar farm powering 95% of its operations, the Seychelles Platte Island property is committed to preserving the area’s diverse flora and fauna.

Eco-awareness programmes such as coral planting, and guided tours of the solar farm, are also available to guests.
