Lifestyle hotel brand Ennismore has signed an agreement to open a property under The Hoxton brand in Madrid, Spain, with the launch planned for 2026.

The development will mark the company's first hotel in the city and its second in the country, following The Hoxton, Poblenou, which began operating in Barcelona in 2022.

The upcoming hotel will be located in Plaza de Santa Ana and offer 192 guest rooms and suites across five categories, as well as an open-plan lobby with a coffee bar and lounge area.

Ennismore’s food and beverage offerings include the Il Bambini Club, which is already established in Paris and London, and a rooftop space called Cayo Coco.

Petra AM will lead renovations for The Hoxton, Madrid, with support from Urban Input Group, which had collaborated with Ennismore on other projects, including The Hoxton in Paris and Poblenou.

Hotel guests have access to cultural institutions such as the Reina Sofía, Prado, and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, along with nearby cafés, tapas bars, and markets.

Plaza de Santa Ana also provides access to Madrid’s theatre and music venues, as well as city events such as San Isidro festival and Madrid Pride.

Ennismore founder and co-CEO Sharan Pasricha said: “We’re delighted to be growing The Hoxton’s portfolio with another exciting property in Spain. Madrid has long been on our radar, and this modernist gem of a building is going to be the perfect home for The Hoxton brand in a neighbourhood teeming with incredible culture, food and history.

“The Hoxton’s pipeline for the coming years is strong, with Madrid one of several openings we have lined up in Europe alongside Oslo, Kraków and Hamburg, as well as Melbourne in Australia and Nashville in the US.”

This development forms part of Ennismore’s ongoing expansion in Spain and its global expansion to open more than 20 hotels and over 35 food and drink venues worldwide this year.

In May, the company opened SLS Barcelona on the city’s waterfront.

In 2024, it launched two hotels in Ibiza, Mondrian and Hyde, and introduced SO/ Sotogrande, an all-inclusive resort in Andalusia.
