Global hospitality group Hilton, in partnership with hotel management company NILE Hospitality, will open five Hampton brand hotels in India over the next two years.

The new signings are part of a strategic licensing partnership reached between the two companies in February this year.

The aim is to expand the brand’s presence in the country’s mid-market hotel segment.

With more than 3,000 properties in operation worldwide, Hampton by Hilton’s entry into India is part of ongoing efforts to adapt its international standards to suit cultural and regional tastes through design and amenities.

NILE Hospitality founder and CEO Vikram Singh Chauhan said: “This partnership represents a defining chapter for NILE Hospitality. It goes beyond building hotels to co-creating a product that reflects the growing appeal of the midscale sector for both travellers and owners seeking brand connections in India today.

“Each destination was selected through an insight-led approach, targeting cities where spiritual and leisure tourism, domestic business travel, and infrastructure growth converge. These markets represent a high-footfall base and an untapped opportunity in terms of room supply.

“The demand for quality branded midscale hospitality continues to outpace supply in these cities - offering Hampton the opportunity to establish a frontrunner space in India's evolving travel economy.”

Two of the five properties will be located in Amritsar, and the remaining three will open in Lonavala, Raipur and Vrindavan. Together, the hotels will offer more than 350 rooms.

The hotels are being developed following market research into the preferences of Indian travellers.

The new properties’ guest room and bathroom configurations will be tailored for the local audience, with each hotel featuring a fitness centre.

Food service at the locations will include a regionally influenced breakfast menu, a round-the-clock coffee station, and a full-service restaurant concept called “Sunny Sides,” serving complimentary breakfasts designed for guests in India.

Hilton Asia Pacific development senior vice-president Clarence Tan said: “These signings represent a significant milestone in our partnership with NILE Hospitality, which will bring Hilton’s trusted hospitality to more travellers across the country.

“Hampton by Hilton has witnessed extraordinary growth globally, and we see tremendous potential for the brand in India as we continue to expand and meet the rising demand for quality, affordable accommodation.”
