Fairfield

Marriott International has unveiled plans to open a 130-room Fairfield by Marriott in El Salvador in 2016.

Dueñas Hermanos, Caribe Hospitality and Terranum Hotels that own the existing Courtyard by Marriott San Salvador will develop the new property while Marriott International will manage it under a long-term agreement.

Located adjacent to the upscale La Gran Via shopping mall, the hotel will be near to offices of large corporations such as Xerox, Citibank, the World Bank, Bayers and Siemens.

Marriott International Caribbean and Latin America president Craig Smith said: "As Central America continues to develop, the region’s middle-class continues to grow and travel more and more, requiring reliable, high-quality accommodations to cater to their lodging needs.

"This new property reaffirms the company’s commitment to Central America and marks the continuation of our aggressive growth plans in the region."
