Bang & Olufsen Launches Giant TV Concept for Great and Outstanding Hotels

15th February 2010

The BeoVision 4-103 plasma TV incorporates state-of-the-art performance within audio, video, magical moving mechanics and intelligent hotel integration, all completely controlled with the Beo5 remote control.

With the launch of the 103in television, Bang & Olufsen takes a quantum leap towards the ultimate flat screen TV. Not only is BeoVision 4-103 one of the biggest TVs on the market; it is also the only giant TV to come with a stand that can lift the TV at the touch of a button and also turn and tilt it to the optimal viewing position.

“BeoVision 4 is not only an outstanding top of the range TV; it is also a truly unique product concept. As such, it provides a strong brand statement, and confirms Bang & Olufsen’s position as the world’s leading AV-provider,” says Bang & Olufsen CEO Karl Kristian Hvidt Nielsen.

Powerful and discreet

Placed on a motorised floor stand, BeoVision 4-103 represents a whole new approach to the placement of a giant flat screen TV. The screen itself will
rest only inches above the floor when the TV is not in use, thus reducing its prominence in the room and concealing all integrated applications.

When the TV is turned on, the screen will elegantly elevate itself to the optimal viewing position, and the seamlessly integrated BeoLab 10 centre loudspeaker will emerge underneath the screen, moving forward until it is flush with the front frame of the screen. At the same time, the screen will turn and tilt according to the user’s preferences. When the TV goes into standby mode, the whole process is repeated in reverse, all at the touch of a button on the Beo5 remote control.

A traveller’s greatest TV experience

BeoVision 4-103 provides a TV experience beyond expectations with unsurpassed sound and picture that will take even the most hard-core traveller’s breath away. Whether watching sports, opera or a movie – enjoying the action on the 103in screen will be a ‘wow’ experience to remember the stay with great pleasure.

The 500kg screen will be noticed even when switched off. Without doubt, this imposing screen in a conference room, hotel lounge, bar or other public area will add brand value to the hotel. Placed in a luxury suite BeoVision 4-103 will give the guest the definitive in-room entertainment experience.

By adding a user-friendly connectivity panel the guests can even use their own camera, laptop or iPod for a bigger experience than ever before.

An all-purpose TV

The size of the carefully crafted 103in screen, with its high-grade aluminium frame, is impressive, but it becomes even more impressive when the screen starts to move in a powerful, sturdy fashion. The movements of the screen and speaker are accelerated and decelerated in the process to underline the muscular progress, and the initial lift of the screen is timed with the start up time of the BeoSystem 3 picture and surround sound engine, which is about 18s. The hallmark electronic curtains are then pulled aside while the BeoLab 10 centre loudspeaker is moving forward into position.

Offering a superior integrated surround sound solution which makes it possible to connect up to 14 BeoLab speakers, BeoVision 4-103 furthermore introduces Adaptive Sound Technology. This unique technology has the capacity to transform an entire room into one big sweet spot, greatly enhancing the hotel’s freedom to place speakers as integrated elements of the interior design. With Adaptive Sound Technology, the sound can be made to appear directly in front of the listener no matter where the loudspeakers are placed and regardless of the listener’s position in the room.

Customisation

The Bang & Olufsen remote control system for the BeoVision 4-103 can be tailor-made to interface with the hotel’s service system and the specific electronic interior of each room.

Due to the extensive flexibility of BeoVision 4-103, its built-in competencies and high-end performance, the customer gets a unique Bang & Olufsen solution.
