
India’s travel & tourism industry registered a 12.8% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 125.77% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.18% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 10.97% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.76% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 68.61% in August 2021, registering a 25.41% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 12.11% share, an increase of 80% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 9.87%, registering a 4.76% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 4.04%, up 80% over the previous month.
Top five travel & tourism companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 86.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s travel & tourism industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
A.P. Moller – Maersk posted 78 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 8.33% over the previous month, followed by Genting Group with 30 jobs and a flat growth. Booking Holdings with 27 IT jobs and Wizz Air with 12 jobs, recorded a 1250% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Expeditors International of Washington recorded a flat growth with 10 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.68%, up by 42% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.97% share, registered a decline of 9.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 14.35% share, up 113.33% over July 2021.
