Germany’s travel & tourism industry registered a 1.0% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.71% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the travel & tourism industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.91% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s travel & tourism industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.29% in August 2022, registering a 35.71% decline over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.71% share, an increase of 24% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 17.71%, registering a 40.91% rise from July 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 16%, up 75% over the previous month.

Top five travel & tourism companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 14.74% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s travel & tourism industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Deutsche Bahn posted 57 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 13.64% over the previous month, followed by Deutsche Lufthansa with 43 jobs and a 51.14% drop. Sixt with 28 IT jobs and Flix with 23 jobs, recorded a 1300% growth and a 32.35% decrease, respectively, while Grupo Posadas SAB de CV recorded a flat growth with 11 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.57%, down by 17.81% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.86% share, registered an increase of 37.5% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.71% share, down 46.88% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.86%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
