Service-driven wholesale tour operator G2 Travel has selected cross-border payments company Nium to enhance global hotel payments.
The collaboration will see the implementation of Nium’s virtual card payment solution, designed to facilitate swift, secure, and efficient transactions across borders.
G2 Travel will benefit from Nium’s ability to issue virtual cards accepted by Visa and Mastercard, providing access to more than 20 local currencies.
The partnership has already enabled several live currencies and plans to incorporate more in the future.
Nium’s solution offers G2 Travel’s hotel partners the advantage of automated reconciliation, rapid settlements, and increased acceptance rates, thereby improving both security and operational efficiency.
G2 Travel founder David Littlefair said: “We chose Nium for their unmatched global reach and currency coverage, making them the ideal partner for powering worldwide hotel payments.
“With Nium, we have the scale we need to tap into high-growth markets and meet rising demand for quicker, more secure, and reliable payments across the travel ecosystem, now and in the future.”
Going forward, G2 Travel aims to broaden its global payment capabilities in collaboration with Nium.
The expansion will include the addition of more virtual card currencies, further refining its group business offerings.
Nium Europe enterprise and travel SVP head Max Lehmann said: “By combining our travel payments expertise with G2’s global distribution network, we’re helping hotels get aid faster, reduce fraud, and improve cash flow — so they can focus on creating exceptional guest experiences.
“We’re excited to see this partnership grow as we expand into new markets and solutions, delivering the benefits of virtual cards to more travel intermediaries and accommodation providers around the world.”
In May 2024, Nium entered a partnership with online travel agency HappyEasyGo where the latter will utilise Nium-issued virtual cards as the digital standard for payments to its travel suppliers.
