Hyatt Hotels has opened a new private all-pool-villa resort, Alila Kothaifaru Maldives, in Raa Atoll at the northern edge of Maldives.
Located on the 11.2ha island, the new resort is a 45-minute seaplane journey away from Maldives’ capital city Malé.
Alila Kothaifaru Maldives is surrounded by white-sand beaches, clear blue waters, a house reef and lush greenery.
The resort features 80 pool villas, of which 36 are over the water providing direct access to the sea, while 44 villas are located along the beach.
Each villa in the resort has its own private pool and sun deck.
Hyatt Asia-Pacific group president David Udell said: “As countries continue to open up and travel confidence grows, we look forward to welcoming guests from all over the world to Alila Kothaifaru Maldives for a memorable getaway in what we hope will become the centrepiece of Raa Atoll.

The resort features a beachside all-day dining restaurant, Seasalt, which offers coastal Mediterranean cuisines with Middle Eastern influences.
Other dining options for the guests are Mirus Bar, Yakitori Bar, Pibati Café, Japanese inspired restaurant Umami and The Shack, a gourmet picnic spot.
Other amenities offered at the all-pool-villa sanctuary include a 24-hour fitness centre, a beachfront swimming pool and a spa with four double treatment suites, each having a private bathroom.
The guests can also enjoy a wide variety of water activities at the Water Sports and Dive Centre of the resort.
In June last year, the second Alila-branded hotel opened in Oman. The new luxury hotel, Alila Hinu Bay, is the 27th Hyatt-branded hotel in the Middle East region.
