
The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the launch of Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa in the coastal town of Alibaug, Maharashtra, India.
Featuring 156 rooms, the resort is designed to offer a seaside guest experience.
IHCL CEO and managing director Puneet Chhatwal said: “Located across the shore, Alibaug has long been a favoured leisure destination for Mumbaikars.
“The launch of Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa marks IHCL’s debut in this micro-market, further strengthening our presence in Mumbai’s leisure circuit and expanding our brandscape and footprint in Maharashtra.”
Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa, Maharashtra, which was a conversion project signed in February, provides a range of amenities.
The resort includes the J Wellness Circle spa and three distinct dining venues. These encompass Aparanta, an all-day dining restaurant; Konkan Café; and 24 Alive, a bar offering a selection of cocktails.

Additional facilities include a swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness centre, and a dedicated kids’ activity area.

The opening of Taj Alibaug Resort & Spa is part of IHCL’s ongoing expansion, which includes a global portfolio of 381 hotels, with 134 under development across 14 countries.
IHCL entered an agreement last month with Just Perfect Resorts Goa for a SeleQtions hotel opening in Anjuna, Goa, India.
This 51-key resort will involve the transformation of an existing standalone property.
Last month, IHCL expanded its footprint in the Indian state of Karnataka with the launch of the Gateway Coorg, nestled in the region’s coffee plantations.
