The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) is set to make its foray into South Africa’s luxury wildlife hospitality sector with the signing of three Taj-branded lodges in the Balule Game Reserve at Kruger National Park.
In partnership with US-based company OM USA, the move also marks ICHL’s entry into a new segment.
The three luxury lodges, namely the Taj Lion Kings Hilltop Tented Camp, the Taj Lion Kings Bush Lodge, and the Taj Lion Kings River Lodge, will offer guests an immersive safari experience.
Each lodge features amenities such as an all-day dining restaurant, spa, swimming pool, and recreation areas.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal stated, “As the demand for purpose-led travel continues to grow, Taj, with its differentiated offerings, brings exceptional safari experiences where expert-led jungle drives, community engagement, and conservation-led design come together to create unforgettable journeys.
“Our foray into Kruger National Park builds on this legacy, offering travellers an authentic connection with nature through a responsible tourism approach. We are delighted to partner with OM USA to bring this vision to life.”
