For events, the property is expected to offer more than 10,000ft² of banquet space, along with multiple meeting rooms aimed at conferences and other gatherings.
Promoted by Kanhaya Lal Agrawal, KLA Group will serve as partner for the project.
IHCL described Raipur as one of central India’s “fastest-growing urban centres”, and a hub for commerce, industry and government activity.
IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “Raipur has emerged as one of central India’s important economic centres, driven by industrial expansion, infrastructure development and its growing role as an administrative and educational hub.
“The signing of Gateway Raipur will enable IHCL to cater to the city’s evolving hospitality demand and we are delighted to partner with Kanhaya Lal Agrawal for this project.”
With this signing, the company’s portfolio in the city will rise to four hotels, including three under development.
Agrawal said: “Raipur continues to witness strong economic and social growth. We are pleased to partner with IHCL and contribute to the city’s evolving hospitality landscape.”
Last month, IHCL signed an agreement to develop a new Gateway hotel in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu. The property will comprise 176 rooms.
