IHG Hotels & Resorts has entered a management agreement with real-estate firm Mountain View to bring its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo, to Egypt.

The company will launch four hotels, namely Hotel Indigo Mountain View North Coast, Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity New Cairo, Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity 6th of October City and Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ain El Sokhna.

The Hotel Indigo Mountain View North Coast is scheduled to open in July 2024 and will feature 100 rooms, 165m2 of meetings and events space, a spa, health club, and pool.

Located in the Fifth Settlement, the 200-room Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity New Cairo is slated to open in January 2026.

The 200-key Hotel Indigo Mountain View icity 6th of October City will have food and beverage (F&B), retail and entertainment options to offer locally inspired experiences to guests.

The Hotel Indigo Mountain View Ain El Sokhna will have 150 rooms and provide meetings and events spaces, and F&B options.

Both these hotels are scheduled to open in January 2028.

IHG IMEA managing director Haitham Mattar said: “Egypt is one of the most dynamic tourism markets in the region with a great vision for the future of leisure and business travel.

“Our partnership with Mountain View, one of the most forward-thinking developers in Egypt, is testament to our continued commitment to bolstering the hospitality sector with more versatile properties, diverse offerings and immersive experiences for domestic as well as new segments of international visitors that are expected to visit Egypt as travel returns.

“Through this partnership, we not only aim to showcase the vitality of the Hotel Indigo brand but also the emerging and established regions of the country to a new group of Hotel Indigo guests.”

IHG launched the Hotel Indigo brand in 2004. Currently, Hotel Indigo has more than 120 hotels in over 20 countries across the globe with another 100 properties in the pipeline.

In November last year, Hotel Indigo brand made its debut in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
