Ishraq Hospitality, the asset management and hospitality division of UAE-based Mohamed and Obaid AlMulla Group, has signed a hospitality management agreement with Rekan Group.
According to Zawya, under the terms of the deal, Ishraq Hospitality will be responsible for managing the Crowne Plaza Batumi Beach Hotel in Georgia.
Situated by the beach promenade in Batumi, the new hotel will feature 150 guest rooms, a pool, meeting facilities, two restaurants and a fitness club.
The new Crowne Plaza Batumi Beach Hotel is expected to open in 2025.
Rekan Group co-owner Ahmed Ali Azeez Rekani was quoted by TradeArabia as saying: “We are delighted to join forces with Ishraq Hospitality and IHG Hotels & Resorts. This partnership represents a momentous step forward for our organisation as we contribute to the development of Batumi’s hospitality sector.
“With Ishraq’s proven track record and our shared vision for excellence, we are confident that these new properties will become the preferred choice for both business and leisure travellers.”

By GlobalDataAdditionally, Ishraq Hospitality will also be responsible for the hotel management of a 240-room hotel apartment, Batumi View Hotel Apartments.
Ishraq Hospitality CEO Richard Haddad said: “The addition of the Crowne Plaza Hotel and Batumi View Hotel Apartments to our portfolio signifies our continued dedication to expanding our presence in strategic markets and offering world-class expertise.”
In May this year, the company announced its environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals for 2023, of which Ishraq Hospitality intends to achieve a 60% reduction in single-use plastics, a 50% reduction in paper and a 2% reduction in food waste as against 2022.
