Marriott International has opened its first Fairfield by Marriott brand property, Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela, in Costa Rica.

The hotel has 120 spacious and well-equipped guestrooms, featuring separate rest and work areas.

The new property is located in Costa Rica’s Alajuela province and is around five-minute drive away from the Juan Santamaria International Airport.

It also provides easy access to various tourist spots in the area including Britt Coffee Tour and Poas Volcano National Park.

Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela includes three event venues, including 1,474ft² of function space, for hosting meetings, conferences and other social events.

The hotel also features a Fairfield Garden signature restaurant offering international cuisine for breakfast and dinner.

Other amenities include a shop for daily essentials and a 24/7 fitness centre.

The new Fairfield property has received LEED Gold certification for operating as an eco-friendly building and reducing carbon emissions.

Earlier in March, Marriott unveiled plans to open seven Fairfield by Marriott brand properties in Japan this year.
