Marriott International has entered into agreement with Steamships Trading Company to bring its first property in Papua New Guinea.

The hotel located at the CBD district of downtown Port Moresby is scheduled to open in mid-2023.

Marriott Executive Apartments Port Moresby is expected to house 88 residential apartments featuring one and two-bedroom with separate spaces for living, sleeping, and working.

Other guest amenities will include laundry services, kitchens with a refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop, microwave and oven, and spacious dining areas.

In addition, the property is expected to have a lounge that caters light meals, self-service options and evening cocktails.

Further, plans are in place for a leisure floor that will house a lap pool, leisure pool, a fitness centre, three spa treatment rooms, and a recreational zone for children.

Marriott Executive Apartments Port Moresby is located within the mixed-use development of Harbourside South.

Besides the hotel, the development will feature a retail floor and three floors of A-grade commercial space.

Last month, Marriott International opened its first Fairfield by Marriott brand property, Fairfield by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela, in Costa Rica.
