
Global hospitality group Minor Hotels has entered an agreement with its joint venture (JV), Funyard Minor, and Chongqing Yuanchu Luquan Cultural Tourism Group for the development of a new property in China.
The upcoming Anantara Clear Water Bay Sanya Resort is scheduled to open its doors in October 2027.
Minor Hotels Greater China development vice president and Funyard Minor board member Eddy Tiftik said: “We are honoured to collaborate with Chongqing Yuanchu Luquan Cultural Tourism Group to jointly create the Anantara Clear Water Bay Sanya Resort as a renowned resort destination in China.
“This project represents a significant expansion for our Anantara brand and our commitment to promoting sustainable tourism development in Hainan and supporting Lingshui’s ‘2+7+3+N’ coordinated development plan.”
This luxury property will be built in Lingshui Li Autonomous County along a 12km stretch of Clear Water Bay’s beach in Hainan. The site is located 35km from Sanya city centre.
The area is known for its tourism offerings, including Fenjiezhou Island, Qingshui Bay, Nanwan Monkey Island, and R&F Ocean World.

By GlobalDataThe resort will boast 90 rooms and suites, ranging from 60m² to 240m².
Dining options will include speciality restaurants and an all-day dining venue.
Anantara Spa, a wellness centre, outdoor swimming pool, and entertainment centre are among the leisure facilities planned, alongside a 400m² banquet hall and a 350m² outdoor lawn for events.
Chongqing Yuanchu Luquan Cultural Tourism Development Group chairman Liu Yuanchu said: “We are excited to work with international hotel group Minor Hotels to build the Anantara Clear Water Bay Sanya Resort.
“The Clear Water Bay offers travellers luxurious facilities that seamlessly blend nature and culture, including an international standard golf course, luxury yacht marinas, fishing villages and tropical botanical gardens. We look forward to welcoming guests to explore the region with Anantara in the coming years.”
Minor Hotels, a division of Minor International (MINT), has been expanding its footprint in the hospitality sector since 1978.
Launched in 2001, the Anantara brand now encompasses over 50 luxury properties globally.
In China, Minor Hotels currently operates four establishments, with plans to increase its presence to 15 properties in the next three years, part of a broader expansion strategy.
Earlier this year, the company further extended its reach in the country through a collaboration with Funyard Minor and YouChao International Tourism Hotel to establish a property in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.
