Hospitality group Minor Hotels and its Chinese joint venture, Funyard Minor, have partnered with YouChao International Tourism Hotel to develop a new resort in Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.

The Anantara Thousand Island Lake Resort, slated to open in October 2027, is a 160-room property spread over 36,000m² and features accommodations ranging from 62m² to 340m² in size.

The location of the property will offer access to natural and cultural sites, including the historical Xin’An region, mountain villages, and the Longchuanwan National Fishing Centre.

The resort will feature multiple dining options, a fitness centre, swimming pool, spa, tennis court, tea garden, a forest oxygen bar, and banquet and meeting spaces for business events.

Minor Hotels Group Greater China Development vice-president and Funyard Minor China board member Eddy Tiftik said: “We are honoured to collaborate with YouChao International Tourism Hotel to bring Anantara to Qiandao Lake.

“This cooperation marks another significant milestone in our expansion in the Yangtze Delta Region, while also showcasing our deep commitment and confidence in the Chinese market. We look forward to this project bringing positive economic impact to the local community and promoting the sustained development of the tourism industry.”

Minor Hotels currently operates four properties in China and plans to expand to 15 within the next three years.

The company manages more than 560 hotels, resorts, and residences in 58 countries under brands such as Anantara, Avani, NH, Oaks, and Tivoli. It aims to add more than 280 hotels worldwide by 2027.

Earlier this month, Minor Hotels expanded its preferred distribution partnership with independent B2B travel technology marketplace HBX Group to include hotels in Asia, Australasia, Africa, and the Middle East.
