Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s Aloft brand has started development of a new property as part of a re-use project in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas in the US.
The new Aloft Little Rock Downtown is scheduled to open in early 2016 and will be owned by the Chi Hotel Group.
Aloft Little Rock Downtown will be housed in the 12-storey Boyle Building, which earlier functioned as the State National Bank Building in 1909, along with a retail space including a restaurant and coffee shop in the ground floor.
Aloft Hotels senior vice president Brian McGuinness said that Aloft Little Rock Downtown will bring modern design, a vibrant social atmosphere and innovative technology to Main Street.
"Aloft will soon reach 100 hotels, fueled by strong momentum across the globe," McGuinness added.
Developed as part of a mixed-use development, the project is part of the city’s Capitol-Main Historic District renewal plan, which is expected to increase the value of Boyle Building on Capitol and Main Streets.
