Nobu Hospitality, a global lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, is expanding its presence in Europe with a new property in Italy.

The company has partnered with Grand Hotel Via Veneto chairman and CEO Carlo Acampora for the project.

The collaboration will see the luxurious Grand Hotel being converted into Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Roma.

Slated to open in the summer of 2022, the project will introduce the company’s first hotel and second restaurant in Italy.

The new property is located within a few steps from Villa Borghese park, Piazza Barberini, Trevi Fountain, and Piazza di Spagna.

Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro, and Meir Teper said in a joint statement: “Rome is the gastronomic hub of the world and the ideal location for the Nobu brand.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Carlo Acampora on this exciting project and to bring the famous Nobu cuisine to the residents of Rome as well as visitors from around the world.

“We share many values with Carlo, especially on the significance of hospitality. Rome is an extraordinary mix of high culture, the arts, fashion, and historic architecture. And so, we are honoured now to be able to be a part of the Eternal City through this thrilling opening.”

Nobu Hotel Roma will feature 122 guest rooms and suites, including a 500m2 Nobu Suite, a green-rooftop terrace and indoor and outdoor meeting space.

The hotel will also provide a full-service city spa, advanced fitness centre, a Nobu Restaurant with 24-hour in-room dining as well as an exclusive club lounge.

In July this year, Nobu Hospitality signed MoU with real estate group Asset World Corp (AWC) to open multiple Nobu Hotels and Restaurants in Thailand.
