Japanese-owned Okura Nikko Hotel Management has revealed plans to open a new property in Sichuan Province, China.

Named Hotel Nikko Chengdu Yixin Lake, the new hotel will be located in the Tianfu Yixin Lake development area in Shuangliu district. It is scheduled to open in October 2022.

State-owned enterprise Aerotropolis City Development Group has been hired to manage the new property.

The new 303-room hotel with total floor space of around 35,000m². Each guest room will have approximately 45m² standard area, including suite rooms.

The 24-storey development project will house Japanese and Chinese cuisine restaurants, along with all-day dining and a lobby bar lounge.

Additionally, it will feature two banquet halls, children’s playroom, six conference rooms, fitness centre, executive lounge and an indoor swimming pool.

Okura Nikko Hotel Management president Toshihiro Ogita said: “We are very pleased to be opening our first hotel in Sichuan Province, China.

“The new hotel is aimed at strengthening the company’s network of properties in China. We hope to further raise awareness of our Okura Nikko Hotels brand in China.”

The hotel is part of an urban development project. The 8.4km² plot of land will be divided into residential, educational, medical, commercial, sports and office facilities.

Hotel Nikko Chengdu Yixin Lake will be located in the business zone.

Okura Nikko Hotel Management is a subsidiary of Hotel Okura. It operates 52 properties in Japan and 26 overseas under three groups, namely Okura Hotels & Resorts, Nikko Hotels International and Hotel JAL City.
