Asset management company Peachtree Group has started construction of a 480-room hotel in downtown Austin, Texas, US.
The 30-storey property is scheduled to open in early 2029, with rooms split between the two Hilton brands, namely Embassy Suites by Hilton and Tempo by Hilton.

Peachtree Group managing principal and CEO Greg Friedman said: “Austin continues to distinguish itself as one of the country’s most dynamic growth markets, and we believe this is an exceptional location for a development of this scale.
“Bringing Embassy Suites and Tempo together allows us to serve a broad range of business, group and leisure travelers while creating a differentiated hospitality experience in the heart of downtown.
“This is a significant investment in Austin and reflects our conviction in the long-term growth of the city.”
Peachtree is co-developing the project with Merritt Development Group. DPR Construction has been appointed as general contractor while DLR Group is responsible for the architecture and interior design.

Facilities at the upcoming hotel will include a signature lifestyle restaurant spanning approximately two storeys, a rooftop bar and lounge overlooking downtown Austin.
It will also feature an Embassy Suites restaurant and bar, a Tempo café, meeting and event areas, and a fitness centre.
The two-brand format will target different guest groups while enabling the properties to share amenities and operational infrastructure.
In June, Peachtree finished refurbishment work on the 98-room Hilton Garden Inn Jackson, Tennessee.
