Hospitality chain Sarovar Hotels has launched an upscale property under its Premiere brand in the Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir city of Srinagar.

The 83-key hotel marks the company’s third property in the city and is situated 10km from Srinagar International Airport and 2km from Dal Lake.

Sarovar Hotels chairman Ajay Bakaya was quoted by ETHospitalityWorld as saying: “We are delighted to expand our presence in Srinagar with Sarovar Premiere. This new property is a testament to our commitment to offering unmatched hospitality and personalised experiences.

“With its prime location and warm Kashmiri hospitality, we are confident that Sarovar Premiere Srinagar will set new standards in the city’s hospitality landscape.”

The newly opened Sarovar Premiere Srinagar showcases contemporary architecture and interiors, with a lobby featuring local art reflecting Kashmir’s culture. It also features several dining options, a fitness centre and a souvenir shop.

The property also has a 2,520ft² banquet hall that can accommodate up to 150 guests. The hall’s pillarless design and 10ft ceilings make it suitable for corporate events, weddings, and other private functions.

Manzoor Shariq Hotels and Resorts managing director Manzoor Shah was quoted by the publication as saying: “Our partnership with Sarovar Hotels marks a significant milestone in our journey to elevate Srinagar’s hospitality offerings. With Sarovar Premiere, we aspire to blend the city’s natural beauty and cultural richness with exceptional service standards.

“We believe that this hotel will not only cater to the increasing influx of leisure travellers but also contribute to the local economy by creating job opportunities and promoting local craftsmanship.”

In line with its expansion strategy, Sarovar Hotels launched Highland Sarovar Portico in Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, India, last month.

Furthermore, December 2024 saw the inauguration of the company’s second property in Amritsar, Punjab.
