Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, in association with Hilton Worldwide, has expanded its portfolio in China with the opening of a new hotel, the Waldorf Astoria Beijing.
The new hotel, which is the second Waldorf Astoria hotel in the country, is located in the centre of Beijing city on the former site of Xianliang Temple, which was the permanent residence of Li Hongzhang, the first Chinese guest to stay at the Waldorf Astoria New York.

Waldorf Astoria Beijing has 176 guest rooms and suites, three unique restaurants – Peacock Alley, Brasserie1893 and Zijin Mansion, 796m² of function meeting space, a spa as well as a fitness centre with heated indoor swimming pool.
Operated by Hilton Worldwide, the new hotel is owned by China Oil & Foodstuffs Corporation (COFCO) and is in close proximity to the Beijing Railway Station and the Dengshikou Subway Station.

The property is said to offer easy access to the city’s shopping malls, central business district and historic landmarks including the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
Hilton Worldwide Asia Pacific president Martin Rinck said, "Waldorf Astoria Beijing will build on the success of its namesake, the renowned Waldorf Astoria New York, and its legacy of timeless luxury and exceptional experiences."
The hotel features interior designs by engineers at Yabu Pushelberg Landscape, while its guest rooms include 38 suites in the main hotel tower and the Waldorf Hutong Villa, three Hutong studios and a room in two villas with private entrances located in a garden courtyard.
The group offers arrival to departure services under the True Waldorf Service, which assigns a personal concierge to every guest.
